Seeing for
She's
FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY NOON Come join me for a fun filled, adventurous and creative weekend for women exploring the Great Smoky Mountains. The Smoky Mountains are a wonderful place to expand your creative vision and learn new photographic techniques along with other like-minded women. My goal is to assist photo workshop participants to develop their creative vision and achieve personal growth through the art of seeing. The more we learn to "see" with our minds, hearts and spirits, the more of an adventure photography becomes and the more your photography will express what you “see”. We will discuss lighting, composition, exposure, techniques and equipment as well as the artistic freedom of photography. Late summer is a wonderful time to explore the park. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is in its most vital and vibrant form between the months of May and September. The crowds are gone & the animal populations such as squirrels, deer, raccoons, foxes, and the black bears are all active during these summer months. This combination of lush forest growth and a busy animal population makes for inspiring scenes for photographers to enjoy. Fog rolling in and out of the valleys, sunbeams dancing through the forest and spider webs laden with dew await us. We will visit Cades Cove and explore scenics as well as some close-up challenges and artistic possibilities with movement. There are old barns and homestead to explore as well. We will also visit the Tremont area, one of the most beautiful areas of the park and spend time along the river. We will explore slow shutter speeds verses fast shutter speed and using a polarizer. We will discover intimate landscapes among vistas illuminated by sunrise and sunset light.
Workshops are a
time to feed the soul visually and emotionally— away from the daily routines
and refresh the creative energies. Please join me in making new friends,
exploring a new environment, and letting yourself experiment with finding
new ways of expressing yourself through your photographs. A digital SLR is
recommended as well as a tripod and polarizing filter. What's included & fees: Fee $275 includes notes and farewell lunch on Sunday. Limited to 10 people. This workshop is based at the Tally Ho Inn in Townsend TN and begins in Friday evening at 6pm. Lodging is not included but we will be happy to help you in your lodging needs. The Tally Ho Inn's phone number is 1-800-448-2465 Deposit is $125
