FALL COLOR IN THE
GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS

 Harold R. Stinnette
&
Danny Dempster
OCT. 22-26, 2008

WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY NOON

Autumn in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park what more could a photographer want? How about photographing the Smokies with two seasoned photographers who know this park well. Join Harold R. Stinnette and Danny Dempster as Autumn takes over the southern Appalachian Mountains.  Danny and Harold will guide you to their photography locations and at the same time offer advise, instruction and insight on how to capture the best of the Smokies.

During this field class you will spend 4 ˝ days photographing with Danny and Harold, the mountains covered in their autumn wardrobe. We’ll also be visiting the historic Cades Cove, capturing the rustic cabins with a back drop of fall colors. We’ll visit the mountain streams of Tremont and Greenbrier; some of the more quiet areas of the park.  Each day we’ll be getting an early start to catch the best light or a dramatic mountain sunrise, some days we’ll stay out late to capture sunset from the mountain tops. Every day will be filled with great photographic possibilities; from fall leaves to gold reflections on water to close up and macro. We'll spend 95% our time in the field creating images and learning with hands-on instruction. We'll discuss depth of field, composition, exposure and equipment.  What is an intimate landscape, creativity and creativity techniques will also be covered.  This is a shooting workshop; we want everyone going home feeling they have seen and photographed the Great Smoky Mountains.

Both leaders will be shooting digital but film shooters are welcome. Come prepared to learn and shoot lots of film or memory cards!

Guests are encouraged to bring 5 images for a sharing with the group. Private critiques of these images can be scheduled if you so desire. On Saturday night we'll have a pizza party and program showing a limited number of each  persons  images.
