In April, I hosted a nature photography workshop in the Smokies for the Eastman Camera club in Kingsport, this is a great club and great group of folks. As it normally is, the park was beautiful and there were tons of subjects to photograph, and I believe stunning images were captured by everyone.

I am a guilty as anyone of not taking advantage of the photo opportunities right at home. This past Saturday morning I was up early working on images and I decided to try a sunrise from a spot that is only a half mile from my house. The results were not amazing but not bad either, for a spot I can be at in 5 minutes.

We should all look around for great shoots in our own backyard.
