Danny Dempster

Daniel Dempster launched his professional career in 1988 photographing the thoroughbred horses of Kentucky. After four of his photographs were selected for exhibition at the Kentucky Derby Museum, Daniel was off and running on a successful photographic career. The next year he was selected to be official photographer for the Kentucky Derby Festival and three years after that he won two International Festivals Association Gold awards for his photography.

He has spent the past five years creating stunning photographs of the lighthouses on the vast inland seas of the United States and Canada as well as along the southern shores of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

The results are two coffee-table books - Lighthouses of the Great Lakes - released by Voyageur Press in September 2002 and - Lighthouses of the South - released by the same publisher in May of 2004.

Daniel maintains a well-stocked, 70,000 image photo library of many subjects ranging from celebrities to wildflowers. An outdoor enthusiast, Daniel's photographs of landscapes, wildlife and domestic animals regularly appear in numerous books, magazines, calendars, greeting cards and posters.

Daniel's commercial clients include Guess, Innotek, Nestlé's Purina and Anthem as well as many others. Magazine clients have included Field & Stream, Outdoor Photographer, McCalls, Backpacker, and Ideals, to name a few.

Daniel belongs to several stock photo agencies and his images regularly appear in publications throughout North America and Europe. He is also a well respected instructor and teaches occasional workshops as well as leads photo tours for several photographic touring companies.

Daniel lives in the rolling hills of Southern Indiana with his wife, Denise, their children: Jason and Julia, along with a menagerie of pets.
